Stefanie Ólives is an attorney at Machado Meyer Sendacz e Opice, focused on energy and infrastructure projects and transactions in Latin America, particularly private investments in regulated sectors. She advises on project structuring and development, project finance operations, bidding and competitive processes, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, and the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts, with emphasis on contractual design, risk allocation and financial structuring.

She has solid experience in market design, sector regulation and remuneration mechanisms for infrastructure assets, supporting clients in aligning regulatory frameworks, financial feasibility and investment strategy. Her practice includes structuring PPAs and connection agreements, designing security packages, assessing socio-environmental risks and supporting long-term financing and M&A transactions, with a systemic view of how energy, cities and water infrastructure interact.

Stefanie works at the interface between law, finance and territorial development, advocating for investment models that combine competitiveness with resilience. Her interests include the integration of renewable energy with sustainable construction, bioeconomy and smart cities, as well as contractual mechanisms that translate impact into risk reduction and long-term value creation.

She holds an LL.M. from Ibmec in Tax Law and Accounting, with an international module in Corporate Law and International Transactions at Columbia University, and certifications in Energy Law and ESG. She is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Smart and Sustainable Cities at PUC-RS and is an LL.M. candidate in the Advanced Energy Law Programme (NSELP – Universities of Groningen, Oslo, Aberdeen and Copenhagen).

As a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, Stefanie engages in dialogue on energy transition, sustainable cities and infrastructure financing in the Global South, and leads the Solar Cerrado project, recognized with the Global Shapers Innovation Prize, which integrates solar energy, irrigation and professional training in vulnerable territories.
