Steven Bunce is Integration Officer at UNHCR’s Regional Bureau for Europe, where he leads initiatives across the region to expand economic opportunities and strengthen the long-term inclusion of forcibly displaced and stateless people. His role includes advocacy, strategic engagement, and partnership-building with the private sector, public authorities, and other stakeholders to increase refugees’ access to employment and integration support. He also coordinates UNHCR Europe’s Refugee Employment Platform Initiative, which since 2024 has helped more than 70,000 refugees secure jobs or receive tailored support to successfully enter the labour market. Prior to this role, he worked with UNHCR country and field offices in El Salvador, Mexico, and Colombia, designing and delivering programs that promoted self-reliance, social inclusion, and sustainable work opportunities for refugees and internally displaced people.
