Steven Sim is Malaysia’s Minister of Human Resources. He leads national efforts to future-proof the workforce, strengthen labour protections, and promote inclusive growth. He has championed reforms including increasing the minimum wage, implementing Progressive Wage Policy, promoting labour unions, expanding social security, and improving occupational safety and health via Malaysia’s ratification of ILO Convention 155..
Mr. Sim is also an author of books on Malaysian identity, culture, democracy, and public service. He holds a degree in Computer Science and a Master’s in Sustainable Development.
