Valeria Kogan is an expert in applying AI to biotechnology and agriculture, with experience leading AI teams in biotech start-ups across Europe and the United States. She co-founded Smartomica, an AI platform supporting complex cancer diagnosis, and later founded Fermata, which develops AI-powered solutions for early detection of plant health issues in greenhouses and open fields. Under her leadership, Fermata has been recognized among leading agri-tech and AI start-ups. Kogan holds a BSc and MSc in applied mathematics and a PhD in bioinformatics.
