3 ancient techniques that could cool down cities

Mashrabiyas consist of a balcony or bay window enclosed with a lattice. In traditional Islamic architecture, they helped to catch cool air snd draw it into a building. But mashrabiyas declined with the rise of air conditioning. Now they’re making a comeback in buildings including the Burj Doha in Qatar. Which is covered in intricate lattices that shade it from heat.
