This is the world's first 3D-printed water tank

The tank was built in Kuwait by engineering company Abyan. Typically, tanks are made using concrete casting which creates walls of uniform thickness. But using a 3D-printing tool developed by CEMEX and COBOD, Abyan was able to make the walls 40cm thick at the bottom, 30cm thick in the middle and 20cm thick at the top, saving on concrete. The tank took just 5 days to build and 99% of the materials were locally sourced.
