Climate change is costing Africa up to 5% of its GDP, says the UN

Droughts and heavy flooding are hitting food production hard. This is driving up prices and damaging supply chains. While desertification and habitat destruction are driving people from their homes. Africa suffers disproportionately from the impacts of climate change. The continent is warming faster than the global average and the cost of adaptation is damagingly high.
