COP28 has ended with a historic deal to transition away from fossil fuels

The deal calls on countries to begin reducing fossil fuel use in a ‘just, orderly manner’ to avert the worst effects of climate change. It’s the first time fossil fuels have made it into the language of a global climate deal. The agreement is being called the ‘UAE Consensus’.
