Copenhagen wants to be the first carbon-neutral capital by 2025. Here’s how it’s going

Globally, at least 700 cities have committed to reach net zero by 2050 including New York, Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro. But back in 2012, one city declared an even more ambitious target. Copenhagen set its sights on reaching net zero as early as 2025. The good news is that it has made it most of the way there, cutting its emissions by 75% on 2005 levels.
