COVID-19 can still pose health risks 2 years after an infection

Sufferers are more likely to contract a range of afflictions from fatigue, memory problems and a loss of smell to blood clots, gastrointestinal problems and heart disease. The risk is greatest for patients who were hospitalized with COVID-19. They are 1.88 times more likely to suffer from stomach inflammation, for example than people who didn’t contract the disease. ‘Long COVID’ is thought to affect around 10% of infected people.
