Many tourist destinations are not prepared for a growing number of visitors and while the sector generates 8% of all jobs in major cities worldwide, it also contributes 8% of all global emissions. How can the ever-increasing burden of mass tourism on communities, infrastructure and natural ecosystems be mitigated to build a more sustainable tourism sector?
