Cities in the Global South have less greenery to keep cool

A study found that cities in the Global South have just 70% of the cooling capacity through greenery compared with cities in the Global North. Even while the Global South is more at risk from extreme heat. As global temperatures rise, heat deaths and illnesses are becoming more common, especially in cities, where concrete traps the heat.
