NASA wants countries to agree lunar exploration should be peaceful

It has devised the Artemis Accords, a framework for international cooperation in space and on the Moon. They’re based around a set of 10 principles. These include a commitment to undertaking only peaceful activities in space, ensuring open access to scientific data collected during missions. A pledge to reduce and dispose of orbital debris and guidance as to how countries can extract resources on the Moon. The Accords were established in 2020 by the US and 7 other countries. Now 29 nations have signed up, after Germany joined in September this year.
