In the UK, spending time in nature was worth £356 per person in 2020
2020 saw a spike in the amount of time Brits spent in nature as people stayed home to avoid getting sick during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people were working remotely, which made it easier to visit local parks. And with many social and entertainment venues shut, more people spent leisure time outdoors. The surge in outdoor activity added 20,000 years of healthy life to the UK population, which experts say equals £365 ($460) of health benefits per adult.
