Paris Is Planting Climate Change-Resistant Trees

The city wants to plant 170,000 new trees by 2026 as part of plans to make Paris more resilient to global warming. Last year, Paris had its hottest July on record, as climate change makes heatwaves more frequent and intense. Trees can reduce local temperatures in cities by up to 12˚C.
