The sounds of a healthy coral reef can restore damaged ones

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution broadcast the soundscape from a healthy reef towards a degraded reef. They found that up to 7 times as many corals settled there than on degraded reefs where no sound was played. This could be a useful tool for rebuilding damaged reefs, say the scientists.
