Scientists Have Discovered a New Species of Octopus

It’s a previously unknown species of Muusoctopus, a deep-sea variety that grows up to medium size and doesn’t have an ink sac. The cephalopod was found 2,800m below sea level in a rare octopus nursery off the coast of Costa Rica. The Dorado Outcrop nursery is located near a hydrothermal vent, a crack in the ocean floor which discharges water heated by geothermal energy. The warm water helps eggs develop faster.
