Making steel requires 1,700°C heat. This tech does it with clean electricity

Finnish start-up Coolbrook’s technology does away with fossil fuels altogether. Its RotoDynamic heater can heat gases up to 1,700°C, using only renewable energy. It could help to decarbonize steelmaking, one of the hardest-to-abate industries and the source of up to 9% of global greenhouse gas emissions
