This Bowl Is 3D-Printed From Wood Dust

It’s made by binding sawdust with bioresin using 3D printing methods. The new wood can be worked and sanded and can even mimic real wood varieties, like ash and mahogany. Humans cut down 15 billion trees each year. We use the wood to build, decorate and heat our homes. But our industrial processes waste up to 50%, leaving useless by-products such as sawdust and lignin. These can be toxic to humans and leech into waterways. 3D printer Desktop Metal has found a way to rescue this unwanted waste, turning it into sustainable homeware.
