This flying boat uses less energy than an electric bike

This battery-powered boat, built by Swiss start-up MobyFly, races along above the surface thanks to hydrofoils - wing-like structures mounted underneath the hull.  MobyFly has adapted this technology from elite racing boats. Just like airplane wings, hydrofoils create lift: enough to raise an entire boat out of the water. It’s a fast, quiet and comfortable way to travel, says CEO Sue Putallaz, and because there’s almost no drag, it’s 80% more efficient than traditional watergoing transport.
