1.19 million people worldwide die in road traffic crashes every year. A campaign wants to end that

Globally, road collisions injure as many as 50 million people a year. They’re the leading cause of death among people aged 5-29. Half of all deaths are among vulnerable road users such as cyclists, walkers and motorcyclists. 92% of fatalities occur in developing nations. Even though these countries account for only 60% of the planet’s vehicles. 2021-2030 is the UN’s Second Decade of Action for Road Safety, a campaign to call for a shift in road user behaviour.
