Helsinki leads the Urban Mobility Readiness Index with car-free zones, cycling, and a focus on electric vehicles. Watch to learn more about other Urban Mobility best performers.

The Urban Mobility Readiness Index ranks 65 global cities on how prepared they are for the future of mobility. Finland’s capital performs strongly across the board with car-free zones, advanced cycling infrastructure and an excellent rail network.

It’s also investing heavily in autonomous and electric vehicles, aiming for 30% of cars to be fossil fuel-free by 2030. The researchers published separate indexes for public transport and sustainability. Hong Kong SAR performed best on public transport, while Oslo was the most sustainable city.
