The US is building a genetic database that reflects its diverse ethnic make-up

In the past, genetic studies have suffered from a lack of variety. 78% of participants in large-scale genome studies are of European heritage which adds to disparities among non-white people in global health outcomes. The database was launched by the US National Institutes of Health. It collects data from surveys, electronic health records and blood and urine tests. by analyzing genomes, its scientists have discovered 275 million previously unknown genetic markers.
