Working fully remotely halves your carbon footprint, say US researchers

In a new study that adds to the debate about the environmental impact of working habits. Researchers from Cornell University and Microsoft calculated the carbon footprint of working remotely. They found that daily, it cuts your emissions by 54%. The savings come from reduced energy use in the office and fewer emissions on the daily commute. Reducing commuters also eases traffic congestion, meaning other drivers waste less fuel idling in traffic.
