Your Next Avocado Could Come From Colombia

The Latin American nation recently shot into second place in the world’s avocado-growing stakes. And it’s ready to square up to Mexico, the home of the tasty green fruit, which grows about a third of them. In 2021, Colombia grew 970,000 tonnes of avocados, 218% more than in 2017. Now, it produces almost as many avocados as the whole of Asia or Africa.
