Global Value Chain Policy Series: Competition

Anti-competitive behaviour can affect the smooth functioning of global value chains (GVCs) in different ways and at various stages. While acknowledging that competition law may be a blunt instrument to achieve some public purpose or equity objectives, the paper makes specific recommendations for the design and enforcement of competition law in the GVC context.
