Traumatic brain injury in female inmates is taking a heavy toll – yet it’s overlooked

Standard inmate cells are seen at the Kingston Penitentiary in Kingston, Ontario October 11, 2013. British North America's first penitentiary, the "Kingston Pen" as it is known, is now closed. Situated on prime real estate on the shore of Lake Ontario, its fate is unknown despite being designated as a National Historic Site. Public tours are currently being held to raise money for the United Way. The prison was once home to Canada's most famous criminals including Canadian serial killers Clifford Olson and Paul Bernardo.
