Tom is the founder and CEO of TerraCycle, the global leader in the collection and recycling of post-consumer waste that is generally incinerated or landfilled. Operating national programs in 23 countries, TerraCycle develops business models that incentivize manufacturers, retailers, and end-users to pay for recycling of products and packaging they manufacture, sell or use. By creating turnkey and affordable recycling options, TerraCycle enables these parties to move from the linear to circular economy. Its programs engage tens of millions of people, is a constant presence in the media, bringing in as partners many of the largest companies in the world.
Born in Hungary, raised in Canada, Tom lives with his wife and two sons in New Jersey, USA, where TerraCycle is headquartered. He is the author of 3 books: Revolution in a Bottle (2009); Outsmart Waste (2014) and Garbage is Great (2016). Recipient of numerous social, environmental and business awards, including from the United Nations, World Economic Forum and the Environmental Protection Agency.
