International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

The International Fund for Agricultural Development is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. It has mobilized some $39 billion for rural development. The fund has empowered over 400 million people to grow more food, better manage their land and natural resources, learn new skills, start small businesses, and build strong organizations through programmes and projects in partnership with 122 recipient governments.
