Farms to food markets: providing solutions and collective action for sustainable food systems
The Food Action Alliance is improving sustainable food systems, transforming the way food is produced, processed, consumed, and disposed.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. It has mobilized some $39 billion for rural development. The fund has empowered over 400 million people to grow more food, better manage their land and natural resources, learn new skills, start small businesses, and build strong organizations through programmes and projects in partnership with 122 recipient governments.
COVID-19 has made the global population rely heavily on access to digital technology, leaving many agricultural workers without access to data and information.
These steps can prevent global food shortages during COVID-19 or the crises to come, says the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development President.
