India's mental health conversation is opening up. Better access to treatment is the next frontier
A new survey shows that while attitudes are evolving towards mental health in India, the sector needs targeted investment to deal with it.
The Live Love Laugh Foundation aims to reduce the stigma, spread awareness and change the way people look at mental health. It has been instrumental in creating a platform where people seek help for themselves or their loved ones, find comprehensive knowledge, connect with professionals and find comfort knowing that they are not alone in their battle with their issues. Its programmes include the You Are Not Alone awareness programme for adolescent school children and their teachers; a rural mental health programme in Davangere, Karnataka; and Together Against Depression, a programme for general practitioners to identify physical signs and symptoms of depression.
