Twelve

Twelve focuses on carbon transformation within the energy and materials sectors. It specializes in converting carbon dioxide (CO2) into essential products like aviation fuel and materials using electrochemistry, aiming for zero net new emissions and zero fossil fuels. Twelve's technology, the Opus System, mimics industrial photosynthesis by turning CO2, water and renewable energy into hydrocarbons, which are the building blocks for various materials and fuels. Twelve was formerly known as Opus 12. It was founded in 2015 and is based in Berkeley, California.
