On 27 March 2026, the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the Government of Türkiye, convened a Country Strategy Meeting on Türkiye in Istanbul, bringing together senior political leaders and global business executives. As shifting geopolitical dynamics and economic fragmentation reshape global priorities, the meeting came at a critical time for dialogue.

The Country Strategy Meeting on Türkiye convened senior leaders from government and business, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who delivered a special address and engaged in a high-level Strategy Dialogue. Participants also included Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz; Ministers Hakan Fidan, Mehmet Şimşek; Alparslan Bayraktar and Governor of the Central Bank Fatih Karahan.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz contributed to discussions on Türkiye’s economic priorities and policy direction. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance led discussions on economic policy, reform priorities and the investment landscape, while Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a dedicated session on regional dynamics and geopolitical developments.
