Ify Umunna

Director, Agriculture, Dev-Afrique Development Advisors

Ify Umunna is a corporate strategist and international development expert with over 13 years of experience designing and leading high-impact programmes across Africa. She specializes in agricultural transformation, food systems, investment mobilization, institutional strategy and public policy, working with governments, development finance institutions, philanthropic foundations and the private sector to deliver evidence-based solutions that drive sustainable economic growth.

As Director of Agriculture at Dev-Afrique Development Advisors, Ify leads the firm's Agriculture and Food Systems practice, overseeing complex multi-country assignments spanning agricultural transformation, climate resilience, conservation, digital agriculture, artificial intelligence, geospatial intelligence and institutional strengthening. Prior to joining Dev-Afrique, Ify served as Head of Corporate Strategy and Partnerships at AFEX Group, where she led enterprise-wide strategy, fundraising and strategic partnerships across Africa, Europe and North America. Earlier in her career, she co-founded and served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Nourishing Africa, led programmes at Sahel Consulting, worked with the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health at the World Health Organization (WHO), supported nutrition initiatives at GAIN, and conducted research for the African Philanthropy Forum. She also founded Kori Collective, an advisory firm supporting African enterprises to strengthen their growth and investment readiness.

Her achievements include contributing to the mobilization of over $180 million for Nigeria's Domestic Food Production Stimulus Intervention, securing more than $18 million in grant funding, leading the recapitalization strategy for the East Africa Exchange under the Office of the President of Rwanda, and contributing to the development the Nigerian Bank of Agriculture's Five-Year Strategy.
