Shohei Nakamura

Economist, World Bank

Shohei Nakamura is an economist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank, specializing in urban poverty and spatial inequality. He has published several scholarly articles on housing and land tenure in India's informal settlements. Prior to joining the Bank, he was a visiting fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He also worked for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, where he managed the budget of various projects in the field of urban development. He holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan.
