It’s a web-based platform called ‘Nākotnes darbs’ which is Latvian for ‘future of work’. Students begin by taking an online personality test. They are given a list of 60 different activities, such as assembling furniture, working in a science lab or repairing bicycles and asked whether they would like or dislike doing each one.

In Latvia, students are getting help planning their futures with an AI career coach called Nākotnes darbs, or "future of work". This web-based platform starts with a personality test, asking users to rate their interest in 60 different activities, such as repairing bicycles or working in a lab.

AI career coach matches interests with real opportunities

Based on the results, the platform suggests careers that suit the student’s preferences. It also checks live job listings across Latvian portals to show current demand, expected salaries, and needed skills—making the guidance both personal and practical.

Designed to empower students and inform policy

Developed by the Latvian Education Accelerator, part of the World Economic Forum's network, and coordinated by ERDA Group, this tool gives insights to students, parents, and educators. It also helps policymakers understand workforce trends through live data.

Helping students feel more confident about their futures

After a survey showed only 40% of Latvian students felt confident making career decisions, the platform was launched to close the gap. It helps align aspirations with real-world possibilities, especially in sectors like creative industries, where interest far outweighs actual job availability.
