San Francisco has launched an emission-free hydrogen ferry

This video is part of: Centre for Urban Transformation

It carries up to 75 passengers from the city’s North Beach to downtown. The MV Sea Change ferry launched in July and for the first 6 months, it’s completely free. The Sea Change is powered by zero-emission hydrogen fuel cells. They generate electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen. The only by-product is water vapour some of which is remineralized and used in the ferry’s water fountain.
