Mexico is the target of more than half of cyber threats reported in Latin America

Mexico faced 31 billion cybercrime attempts in the first six months of 2024. That’s around 55% of all the cyberattacks aimed at the region. Mexico has become the biggest trading partner of the US as its proximity and low labour costs have led US firms to move production there. This is making Mexico a prime target for cybercriminals.
