Too calm for catastrophe: there's a problem with climate data, say experts

Most people experience climate change as a slow and incremental process. Humans are good at adapting to gradual changes like this and accepting the new reality as normal. This phenomenon is called ‘shifting baseline syndrome’ or ‘the boiling frog’. Experts say it reduces public pressure for climate action because the slow pace of change obscures the urgency of the crisis.
