More than 150 unprecedented extreme weather events struck in 2024 - the planet’s hottest year ever

The World Meteorological Organization lists 151 events that were worse than ever seen before. Temperatures soared to 49.9°C in Western Australia’s outback, record rains battered Spain, sparking floods and landslides, the Philippines saw 6 typhoons in a single month.
