Women face a higher job risk from AI

1 in 4 jobs around the world are threatened by Generative AI. But jobs held by women are more at risk of ‘task automation’, says a UN report. Globally, 4.7% of jobs held by women are at the highest level of risk from AI, compared with just 2.4% of jobs held by men. In high-income countries, this rises to 9.6% of women’s jobs, almost 3 times the proportion of men’s. But why are jobs held by women more under threat?
