In ASEAN, the labour force is forecast to expand by 11,000 workers every day for the next 15 years. And yet, industrial robots now out-compete low-skilled manufacturing labour; artificial intelligence threatens ASEAN’s service jobs; and self-driving vehicles are already at work in South-East Asia. ASEAN youth will never know a time before the Fourth Industrial Revolution. How do we ensure that the potential offered by start-ups and entrepreneurship will create a brighter future for everyone?

To join the discussion of the critical issues of an “ASEAN 4.0 for All” in person, register here or have your 2018 World Economic Forum on ASEAN badge with you. The Open Forum will be held on Tuesday 11 September 2018 at 10.00 - 11.30 (doors open at 08.30) in the Plenary Hall of the National Convention Center (NCC), Ha Noi, Viet Nam. This session will also be webcast live at http://wef.ch/asean18.

Since 2003, the Open Forum has brought together leaders from all walks of life: government officials, artists, civil society leaders, entrepreneurs and chief executive officers of multinational companies. The sessions are designed to engage a diverse global public and facilitate the sharing of a broad range of ideas, experiences and stories on pressing and controversial issues.
