Europe’s Newest Train Routes: A Greener Alternative to Air Travel

Rail travel on the continent is seeing a renaissance as passengers cut their carbon emissions. On average, train travel emissions are 6 times less than flying. From the 14-hour-long trip from Munich to Genoa and La Spezia that takes the same route as the old Orient Express to Brussels to Berlin via Amsterdam, which covers three historic capitals in one night, here are some of the latest train routes in Europe that will have fewer travel emissions than flying.
