Major technological advances are creating and destroying millions of jobs. These trends are fuelling the rapid rise of certain jobs as well as a sharp fall in other areas as the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 reveals.
Technological advancements are revolutionizing the global labor market, creating millions of new opportunities while rendering many roles obsolete. Wider access to digital tools is expected to create 19 million jobs by 2030, while displacing 9 million.
Similarly, AI and data processing are projected to generate 11 million jobs but also eliminate 9 million. However, robots and autonomous systems are forecast to destroy 5 million more jobs than they create.

The report also reveals that 39% of workers’ core skills will change by 2030. As companies adapt to technological shifts, the demand for reskilling and upskilling will grow, emphasizing the importance of staying ahead in an evolving job market.
