How can technology help businesses adapt to the climate crisis?

This video is part of: Centre for Nature and Climate

In this conversation with ReNew CEO Sumant Sinha, the argument for the green energy transition is laid bare. For most geographies, renewable energy is actually the cheapest alternative as far as new energy is concerned, so the question for renewable energy companies is how do you scale up dramatically to meet the demand growth?

Sumant Sinha explains that by employing widely-available artificial intelligence aides like digital twins, companies can provide virtual real-time information that increases both crop yields and productivity in the real world. To combat renewable energy intermittency, ReNew has also pioneered round-the-clock renewables that combine wind and solar energy with a battery-storage functionality. And to combat growing water-shortages, ReNew uses robotic, water-free solar-panel cleaning methods.

As the climate crisis is already in motion, it's time companies stop overestimating the costs of adaptation and underestimating the benefits of adaptation.
