These solar-powered batteries can power data centres even after the sun has set

By 2030, data centres in the US could use 9% of the country’s total electricity supply. This system, designed and built by US start-up Exowatt, could be part of the solution. Modular and scalable, each unit contains a stack of heat battery cells with rectangular lenses mounted above them, tracking the sun and delivering renewable energy up to 24 hours a day.
