Grimsby was once the world’s largest fishing port. But today, the coast of Grimsby is home to hundreds of wind turbines, including the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Hornsea 2.

Grimsby, once a bustling hub for the global fishing industry, faced a harsh downturn as its fisheries declined. But on the horizon, a new source of energy and economic revival emerged – wind power.

Today, the seas off Grimsby are dotted with hundreds of wind turbines, including the world's largest offshore wind farm, Hornsea 2, generating clean electricity for over 1.4 million UK homes.

Ørsted: A catalyst for change

Renewable energy giant Ørsted played a pivotal role in this transformation. A decade ago, they established a major hub to manage their six offshore wind farms along the East Coast.

Ørsted actively engaged with local communities through forums, consultations, and events, ensuring their voices were heard. They also partnered with businesses and government agencies to develop new skills and job opportunities in the region.
