Europe is one of the most connected regions worldwide, a fact underlined by the penetration rate of household and mobile broadband across the continent.

By 2021, the rate of home broadband in Europe was close to saturation with a penetration rate of 90.2 percent, having jumped up from just over 70.6 percent in 2012.
