How Africa is ramping up the fight against disease

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed a vast inequity in Africa’s access to vaccines. Africa had to import 99% of its COVID-19 vaccines and of the 3 billion doses administered globally just 2% went to African countries. This has prompted a push to boost Africa’s homegrown vaccine manufacturing capacity.
