Britain is investing in a $4.35 billion electricity superhighway, with additional global clean energy developments in Egypt, China, and the Netherlands.

Investment in clean energy must triple globally by 2030 to keep the world on track to hit net zero by 2050. Britain is taking significant steps toward this goal with its ambitious plans for a new electricity superhighway.

Britain invests in electricity superhighway

Britain is building a $4.35 billion electricity ‘superhighway’ to enhance its renewable energy infrastructure. The UK is installing a new 2GW cable that will run 436km under the sea from Scotland to Yorkshire. Expected to be operational by 2029, this cable will deliver offshore wind energy to up to 2 million households.
